SUSTAINABILITY: Many rockfish are depleted because of historical fishing pressure and the fact that rockfish grow slowly and take many years before they reproduce. This species is a fine choice thanks to better management and improved fishing gear for commercial boats.
Range: Alaska, to southern California. 
Habitat: They are a shallow water rockfish living at depths between 10-420 ft
Age: At least to 79 years
Diet: They feed on benthic organisms, including brittle stars, chitons, and crustaceans such as crabs and shrimp.
